The population of Spring Hill in 2004 was estimated to be 3,100 people. With only 1,700 students in the school district ones family is sure to get plenty of educational resources - from pre college planning, to sports and extra curricular activities. The school district recently passed a bond allowing to build a new high school featuring a landscaped plaza, will open in august of 2007 at 199th Street and Ridgeview Road. The community education has constantly been above the national average. In 2004-2005 Spring Hill students scored above the national average on Iowa Test of Basic Skills as well as exceeded State AYP goals for all schools. In addition, the school district achieved one or more "Standards of Excellence" in reading, mathematics, social studies, and science. The Spring Hill High School collaborates with Johnson County Community College to provide “College Now” and “Quick Step” College Credit Programs.
